Threadline works by automatically organizing email into conversation threads and making these threads available from within both Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft SharePoint.
It organizes email as discussion threads that you can manage and access within Outlook, SharePoint and/or within your existing electronic document and records management system (EDRMS). Users continue working in email because that’s where they work most comfortably, but when they need to find an email or collaborate around one, SharePoint’s team sites are a click away from the email conversations taking place right inside their own Inbox.
Most of us rely on email for our business communications. This works well when your recipient list is short and the issues are straightforward. But when used to communicate with teams and groups, email threads become more difficult to follow, making it harder to find previously received email when required. Discussion boards were introduced as an alternative to email when communicating between multiple parties. They work well when people use them, but because they are not as convenient as email, they often sit empty in team sites.
